Professor Rupert Wegerif, Professor of Education at the University of Cambridge, is the Founder and Academic Director of the Digital Education Futures Initiative (DEFI) at Hughes Hall, Cambridge. A leading figure in educational innovation, he spearheads the integration of AI into educational practices for the Internet Age. Through his active involvement in numerous projects and his scholarly output, Professor Wegerif is advancing a dialogic theory and practice that enhances educational environments with technology.

讲座内容介绍

Professor Rupert Wegerif will talk about ‘human-AI Collective Intelligence’ (HAICI) as a new way of thinking about both the process and the aims of education. He will summarise some of lessons learnt from a number of successful projects using GenAI to support more productive collective thinking. These projects include the importance of pedagogy, supporting students and teachers in how to promote effective team-work and problem solving, as well as the use of innovative platforms that support learning from many different points of view in a dialogue. He will argue that this evidence, informed by the best theory we have so far of how collective intelligence works, suggests a programme of research for the future.
