On March 28th, at the invitation of the Department of Educational Psychology （DEP）,Shuguang Kuai，the researcher from the School of Psychology and Cognitive Science，ECNU, the Zijiang Young Scholar, and the neurobiology Ph.D. from the Institute of Neuroscience, attended the first Educational Psychology Interdisciplinary Salon and brought a wonderful report titled Human society gravitational field model: Virtual Reality Quantitative Measurement of Human Social Interaction Space . The salon was hosted by Jiang Yi,  the deputy director and associate professor of DEP.

The Educational Psychology Interdisciplinary Salon is a series of academic activities planned by DEP.  It is planned to be held once a month and will invite domestic and foreign experts in the field of education and psychology to introduce the latest research results. The Salon aims to broaden the academic horizons of teachers and students of the Faculty of Education, promote the development of educational empirical research, and enhance the interdisciplinary academic cooperation.

The first Interdisciplinary Salon is honored to invite Dr. Kuai to discuss how VR technology can be applied to human social interaction field research. He first described his academic journey and introduced the development of cognitive neuroscience in a humorous language. Next, he combed the application of virtual reality technology in psychology research, including the revolution of input technology and recording technology.

Dr. Kuai introduced the hardware implementation of display, input and positioning, the construction and production of virtual reality scenes and virtual avatars. He combined with his own research examples to explain the concept of personal space circle, human social interaction field, and the specific implementation of VR technology, while presenting the actual analysis steps.

In the Q & A session,  the participants conducted in-depth exchanges with Dr. Kuai on key issues, such as the technical requirements in research and application prospects in the field of education and psychology.
